British label Joseph presented their first ever runway show earlier this year at LFW showcasing the AW14 collection. Last month they held their press day and invited me to their head quarters to view the collection up close. This season Joseph kept vintage Britain at the forefront whilst infusing a western theme with tasselled bags, coats, scarves and even neck ties. The vintage feel came in an empowering statement pixelated knitcheck twin set (sweater and legging combo above) which although one would probably never wear head to toe around London, paired separately creates a cool, laid back British heritage feel. All of this was juxtaposed against a modern day rock chick vibe with biker jackets, oversized chunky knits and beanies. The masculine colour palette was kept dark with hints of grey, navy and red. The highlight for me was the red blurred check biker coat, such a statement!  One thing I know for sure is, this fall the Joseph girl will definitely be keeping chic and cosy whilst emulating a fierce look not to be reckoned with!

What do you think of the collection? You can take a look at their SS14 styles here.

London Fashion Week was all about the designers showcasing their collections but there was one brand that was set on showing what our high street has to offer and that brand was M&S. Marks & Spencer debuted their AW14 range at LFW for the first time by celebrating their Best of British design, craftsmanship and creativity, supporting home-grown talent and expertise. Added to this their collection of snugly knitwear, awesome coats in herringbone and checks, and a coveted jacquard floral printed suit, it really is a lust worthy collection.

Continuing to stick to their promise of using high quality fabrics made only in Britain, the brand ensures this home grown design is upheld by using skilled craftsmanship, fine detailing and premium fabrics. The collection consists of key investment classic pieces with a modern twist fusing heritage sensibility with a contemporary aesthetic to take you through the winter months.

The 54-piece collection includes outerwear manufactured in Manchester, knitwear from Scotland and footwear from Northamptonshire, with prices ranging from £19.50 for a leather cuff to £349 for a wool coat, all available from August. Continuing with the British homage even the colours of soft red, white and royal blue set the main palette, with the latter colour again proving to be a hit for AW14. All in all a bold, strong collection filled with superior attention to detail....I for one am definitely looking forward to this hitting stores. Once again M&S champions great British style!
