Vedette recently sent me this gorgeous shapewear styled corset and challenged me to dress it for a day to night look. I chose the
Tatienne style with valencian lace detailing in the front. With underwear as outerwear trending last year, I had many sources for inspiration. Although I'm only used to wearing corsets in the evenings, I have to say that I didn't actually feel too weird wearing this during the day as I kept the rest of my look fairly casual. In
terms of functionality, the corset pulled me in but was
surprisingly very comfortable and gave me more of an hour glass figure
creating curves.
For my day look I styled the shapewear with these awesome
boyfriend jeans, a denim shirt and a blazer. For night, I amped up the glamour and went for printed floral pants with a navy blazer, bold necklace and clutch. And by letting my hair down which had been plaited during the day, I was able to create curls, steam free (perfect styling for day to night).
Real beauty is to truly LOVE yourself inside and out, and be happy with your
imperfections. What a
perfect way to do this than in sexy shapewear, worn as an outerwear
piece. Forget hiding it under your clothing, show the world what you've got and stand tall n proud!
