Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend the BEFFTA Awards (Black entertainment, film, fashion, television and arts). It was a great night, and this galaxy print maxi dress is what I chose to wear. I paired it with this neon necklace from H&M, which went perfectly. The evening ended with veteran journalist, Sir Trevor McDonald winning the lifetime achievement award for his tremendous work in the industry and being the first black television news reader and the British broadcaster with the highest number of awards for his contribution over 30 years.

What do you think of my outfit?

As we stepped out of the airport I couldn't contain how excited I was, why does this city always do this to me? Then I suddenly grounded to a halt....the humidity!!! NYC is ridiculously humid during the summer and within 10 mins my hair had developed a mind of it's own..so I apologise now in advance!

Outfit 2- Dress (worn as a top): Topshop | Maxi skirt: Aqua | Bag: Chanel | Necklace: Zara | Sunglasses: Vintage

On our first full day we visited the Bronx Zoo and in the evening we went to an event where I met the singer Bobby Valentino (still can't believe how tiny he was). We had dinner at the famous Sugarcane restaurant in Brooklyn, where the food came in super large portions which meant after the starters I was already full so had to take my main home. If you like your food big, then you must visit this restaurant....extremely tasty!  Day 2 we celebrated Fashion Night Out on Broadway which was totally crazy but SO much fun!

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Thanks for reading and stayed tuned for day 3..

Last weekend my gorgeous beau threw a surprise birthday party for me at the OXO Tower! I knew he was up to something but had no idea exactly what. This caused me somewhat stress trying to decide what to wear as I had no inkling as to where we were going or what we were doing, so I opted  for this gorgeous leather bodycon dress from Aqua!

Dress:Aqua | Bag: French Connection | Shoes: Zara | Necklace: H&M | Sunglasses: Vintage

It was such a great night, we had the vip area and watched the sun set from the private terrace which provided breath taking views of the city! And to top it off we also managed to watch Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah take gold for GB in the Olympics. With all the screaming and alcohol over the weekend I managed to lose my voice! The venue was simply stunning,  if you ever get to take a trip to London, you must have dinner at the Oxo.Thanks to my family and friends for making it such a memorable night x

How was your week? Have you too been swept up by the Olympic bug?

I finally got to wear this gorgeous silk new dress I purchased from the Aqua sample sale last week. From the moment I saw it I knew it would be perfect, with it's the parachute style, colour blocking and length it would be one of those dresses I could dress up or down, and for £30 I couldn't leave it behind. I also purchased two other dresses, a yellow midi and a leather bodycon maxi which I cannot wait to wear and of course show you all!!!

As I was invited to the preview it was not like other sample sales full of chaos, instead I was able to shop in a semi relaxing environment. But on my second trip on the last trading day, it was packed with shoppers grabbing the last pieces on the rails and orange was definitely the main theme on that Sunday afternoon in Brick Lane with the orange Aqua shopping bags present on every street corner.

I met the talented Beren, the technical director and the gorgeous Julie, founder of Aqua who were both so helpful and passionate about the brand.

I accompanied Mr LTB to a photo shoot near Waterloo and decided to take advantage of these red sunglasses and graffiti artwork for my own photos.

My outfit - Aqua dress, H&M necklace, Zara bag, Vintage sunglasses, bangles: green & pink h&m, silver spike Internacionale, gold vintage & India, blue ring accessorize

This is seriously going to be one of my "when not sure what to wear" dresses pick the silky parachute dress - a staple and definitely makes a statement! And because this dress I think does all the talking I chose to keep it simple by adding this pink necklace. This is definitely a brand to check out as the dresses are super long enough for heels and fit extremely well. In the past I have bought many pieces from the London store as the detail and cut is always on point!

What a short week it has been, again the weekend is upon us....YAY!!! I will be catching up with my fave blogs and reading mags, time to relax I think ;) Hope you all have a fab one x

What do you think of my new dress?
